Be a first year medical student (Ml) accepted into the MD program at EVMS; Demonstrate financial need; Have residency status within the Commonwealth of Virginia; Have an interest in practicing family and community medicine within a rural community; Be a student with a connection to a rural area as defined by the Isserman definition anywhere in the continental United States (examples include prior residency in a rural area, graduate of a high school in a rural area, and/or an immediate family member (mother, father, sibling) living in a rural community.
