M. Kirwan King, M.D. Scholarship

The M. Kirwan King, MD Scholarship is awarded based on financial need to a medical student who is: a medical student with ties to the North Neck of Virginia, which includes Westmoreland, Richmond, Northcumberland, and Lancaster counties of Virginia; Medical student with ties to the Eastern Shore region of Virginia; Medical student with ties to an alternate rural area of Virginia, which is defined by the Isserman Rural definition as a county with a population density with less than 500 people per square mile, and 90% of the county population is in a rural area, or the county has no urban area with a population of 10,000 or more.
